About

On her 2018 EP, Fight, singer and songwriter Sandra Lynn wove an intriguing story about the end of a relationship. Thanks to Lynn’s relatable storytelling and her emotionally resonant voice, the songs vividly tracked one couple’s struggle to decide how far they’d go to save their relationship before ultimately calling it quits. “The songs touched on the vulnerable and intimate details women like to share behind closed doors,” Lynn says of Fight, which earned the independent country-pop artist her first berth on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. It also spawned the single “Somebody Kissed Me At A Bar,” which racked up over half a million streams after being featured on Spotify’s Wild Country playlist, while its official video has earned over half a million YouTube views.

Now Lynn is continuing to tell more of the story with a new batch of songs she released in May of this year, starting with her new single “Lose The War,” written by Nashville notables Emily Shackelton, Phil Barton, and Cameron Jaymes. “‘Lose The War’ is about calling an end to an argument, waving the white flag, and rising above the petty fighting in order to save the relationship,” Lynn says. “What’s the point of winning an argument if it’s going to break you in two?” The song picks up the Fight narrative by calling out the things you might ask yourself after a break-up: What if one of us had just been the bigger person? Would we have ended up where we are now? Another new song, “Am I Just Dreaming,” which Lynn co-wrote with Nashville up-and-comers Joey Ebach and Ryland Fisher, is about realizing you may still have feelings for the other person and you wonder if you’re dreaming or if you truly miss them enough to give it another go. “It’s another ‘question’ song, where you’re in the thick of that inner struggle to sort out your feelings after a relationship ends,” Lynn says.

LOSE THE WAR (2019)

  • 1. LOSE THE WAR BUY
    LOSE THE WAR
Cameron Jaymes / Emily Shackelton / Phil Barton

those words blew up in a hurry last night
we turned that fire, cold as ice
yeah, you and I both wanted to be right
but it all feels wrong in the morning light
so I'm waving the white flag
yeah, I'll take it all back...‘cause

    WHAT DOES IT MATTER
    WHO WINS THE BATTLE
IF IT MEANS THAT WE WALK AWAY
    CALL IT A DAY,
    NO DON'T CALL IT OVER
    JUST PULL ME CLOSER
    TELL ME WE'RE BULLETPROOF
    ALWAYS BE ME AND YOU
oooh, I'd rather surrender than say goodbye
when did we forget we're on the same side
    what are we fighting for
    NO, WHAT DOES IT MATTER
    WHO WINS THE BATTLE
IF IT MEANS WE LOSE THE WAR
IF IT MEANS WE LOSE THE WAR

let's put this bad blood to an end
lay it down here on this bed
oooh..don’t have to say another word
one kiss could fix all this hurt…so

    CHORUS

Am I Just Dreaming (2019)

  • 1. Am I Just Dreaming BUY
    Am I Just Dreaming
    Sandra Lynn/Joey Ebach/Ryland Fisher

Why am I missing those lips, the same ones that said goodbye
Or want to stare into those baby blues that made me cry, one too many times
Why do I keep those pictures on my phone, and leave the porch light on all night long
Why do I lie awake, waiting in this bed
For you to wrap me up again

Am I just dreaming, thinking we got something left
I wanna believe it, but you got my heart fighting with my head
Blame it all on my feelings, or a moment of weakness, is there more to you and me than the space between us, or am I just dreaming?

Dreaming that your watching that clock hour hand hit 3AM
Replaying every kiss, my fingertips running down your skin, ‘bout as good as it gets
When you can’t take that lonely no more
Put that truck in drive, pedal to the floor
And ten minutes later you’re at my door
Back in your arms just like before

Or am I just dreaming, thinking we got something left
I wanna believe it, but you got my heart fighting with my head
Blame it all on my feelings, or a moment of weakness, is there more to you and me than the space between us, or am I just dreaming?

Might be the red wine talking
    maybe I’m sleep walking
Maybe when tomorrow comes I’ll open my eyes to find
    That I was just dreaming

Am I just dreaming, thinking we got something left
I wanna believe it, but you got my heart fighting with my head
Blame it all on my feelings, or a moment of weakness, is there more to you and me than the space between us, or am I just dreaming?
